What should I do to attend a Biodanza class?

Is it necessary to know how to dance to practice Biodanza?
No, it is not necessary to know how to dance or have a specific physical condition to perform Biodanza. There is no choreography or steps to repeat, so anyone can practice it. The proposal is that you connect with what you feel and you can express it through movements that make sense to you.
What is done in each exercise?
Before each exercise, the facilitator demonstrates the movement and explains the intention. For example, if we want to deal with fluidity in life, slow down, find creative solutions like the water of a river that finds a rock and looks for new paths, a slow, continuous, rounded movement, etc., will be proposed, and each person can then express their fluidity. The result is integrating experiences, moments lived fully in the here and now that harmonize us and restore our internal balance.
Who can facilitate (teach) a Biodanza class?
Those who have the qualification of Rolando Toro System Biodanza Facilitator, granted by one of the official schools. It is a training that covers three years plus another of supervised classes, and the completion of a dissertation on a specific topic. Here at Community Biodanza we have 3 facilitators who all trained together at the IBFed Rolando Toro School of Biodanza in Bristol.
Who regulates Biodanza?
The International Biodanza Federation, which is the World Federation of National Associations of Biodanza Schools Rolando Toro System which is based in Bologna (Italy).
How much does it cost?
Drop in classes cost £10 or a bank of 5 consecutive classes can be bought for £45 or a bank of 10 consecutive classes for £80. If money is an issue, we encourage you to contact us and we can negotiate some form of exchange that works for all of us.
What are the benefits of doing Biodanza regularly?
Biodanza prevents and decreases stress, it strengthens the immune system, facilitates the expression of emotions, awakens our connection to being and feeling alive, strengthens self-esteem and our sense of identity, develops our creativity and “lust for life”, promotes improved communication and generates feelings of wellbeing and a sense of living life to the full.
